Worst Valentines Day Gift Ever!!!

Drooling Over Yarn was having a contest for the worst Valentine's Day present, She wanted to know what you received that was the worst, ever.
She said what are you playing for? One skein of custom painted lace weight yarn. Why not get something beautiful for once instead of something horrible?
Good luck and may the worst gift win!
Well this is what I wrote: A pair of hedge clippers to cut the hedges with and he bought himself a $450 gas operated weed whacker.
Needless to say I was angry that his was motorized and mine was manual you know like a giant pair of scissors.
On a good note this is an ex husband.
I’m now happily remarried and new hubby and I are celebrating our 5Th Wedding Anniversary on Valentines Day;)so there is a happily ever after after all.
Out of 39 comments I won for having the worst valentines ever.
I was so surprised when I received this email "Just wanted to let you know that you won the contest with the worst ever present. I saw your answer and nearly fell out of my chair! How can anyone be that clueless to give a pair of pruning shears for a Valentine's Day present?"
When I was married to my ex husband we had a football field sized back yard full of bushes and it was my job to trim them and it would take me all weekend to trim those bushes with my hedge trimmers he would be zipping along the flower beds with his expensive gas operated weed whacker and I would be just fuming. I think when we got divorced I threw out the offending hedge trimmers.
I’m very happy to be remarried to a sweet and very romantic fellow like my Tom.
I received an Amazing package last week from Drooling Over Yarn there was this yummy lace weight merino yarn called "Be My Valentine" the picture I took didn't capture the violet color going through it just gorgeous but there was more... some rock’ in stitch markers so cool and a heart shaped tin full of Lindt Lindor truffles which Tom and I quickly ate and they were yum!!!!
Thank you Laura your generous gift of hand dyed yarn and hand made stitch markers are a very special treat and are a wonderful Valentines Day surprise:)

~A Trip To The E.R. And A Surprise Package~

I spent the day in the E.R. as I woke up Monday morning unable to swallow my throat was hurting so badly.
When I went to the E.R. They said that it is an upper respiratory infection that has to just run it’s coarse.
Definitely Iam feeling nauseated and tired.
Iam postponing going back to work till Friday I was suppose to go back to work Tuesday but there was no way I would be able to.
I feel dizzy like my equilibrium is off kilter . When I came home Monday night there was a package from my hot cocoa swappin 2 buddy, boy was Channons timing perfect:)
She was a super swap buddy she not only sent me a wonderful package of goodies but sent gifts for everyone in my family even precious our cat got a special treat:)
What an extra special surprise it was that it was a dear blogging friend who spoiled me.
Channon had asked me as my secret pal if there was anything she could send for Tom and the girls and asked me what the girls favorite colors are.
In the package was a gift card for Tom for Starbucks in a cute cupcake card with a bow and she sent the girls a book they love called love from woolly.
Chan sent me a beaded necklace she made herself that I love in purple with green beads.
There was a Hiya Hiya needle gauge,soap from soapalooza called Tangy Tangerine that smells like orange dreamsicles and brings back childhood memories of chasing the ice cream truck down for one:)
There was a wooden sheep key chain,pez sheep key chain,and my blah buster buddy which Alora named patchy the sheep and the girls have been playing with continually;)
#9 Brittany dpn’s and #10 Bryspun rosewood dpn’s,Starbucks chocolate covered graham crackers which the girls enjoyed I got one;)
There was a Starbucks tumbler mug,and clover point protectors large and small.
There is Cocoa Mayan Blend by Hershey’s and Land O Lakes Madagascar vanilla brimming with chocolaty flakes which I cant wait to try when my tummy settles.
There were sticky arrows which I needed as Iam almost out of the ones I already have.
Chan sent cat treats for precious our cat.I saved the yarn for last Chan knows Iam liking bulky yarns right now so she sent me blue sky alpaca bulky in a powder blue color yum!!!
So that I can knit my girls each something she sent classic elite extra fine merino pink for Alora and purple for Athena that is why she had asked as my secret pal what their favorite colors were:)
There is a sheep note pad with pen.
The card has a Basset Hound on it which looks alot like Sissy:) everything was wrapped in a lovely light blue paper with peppermints on it.((((Hugs))))Thankyou Channon

~Fluffy Gosling Neckwarmer~

This is a project I finished knitting february 12th before I started feeling yucky.
I knit the Fluffy Gosling Neckwarmer after seeing my friend InsanKnitty's yummy Neck Truffle.
Both patterns are by Breean Elyse The knitting accessories you see in the neckwarmer are not buttons they are
PolarKnit Yarn Dots they pop easily into any knitted or crocheted chunky item and
I plan on buying some crocs to pop some into this spring.
I know The Loopy Ewe carries yarn dots.

~How We Spent Valentines Day~

A couple of days before my surgery our daughter Alora came down sick with a virus that causes fevers and a head cold, sore throat, and harsh cough.This week our other daughter Athena came down with it also.
Yesterday both Tom and I realized we were becoming sick so today we stocked up on soup,jello,fruit juice bars,and cough drops as well as tiolet paper,and boxes of kleenex and we all just layed around sleeping and cuddling one another.
We wont be decorating cookies this weekend but at least Tom has Monday off so we can rest and we will try to weather it out.
I know alot of my blogging friends and their families have this virus visiting their homes my thoughts and prayers are with everyone as this is that tough time of year that this stuff hits.Please know that if I stop blogging for a week I will be back when we are all feeling better.((((Hugs)))) Darcy & Tom & girls

~Recovery Day 7~

~Toms Tuscany Soup~


I think I might be coming down with what the girls have Iam wearing a coat indoors and feel aweful.
We did take out the catheter this morning and Iam voiding normally again.
Tom made tuscany soup for dinner.
I sat in a bath for 10 minutes the doctor said to do this once a day and it really made me feel better:)
If you click on tuscany soup it is a link to the recipe and it is so yummy my hubby substitutes the kale with spinach and uses lactaid milk instead of heavy whipping cream as I and Alora are lactose intolerant.
