First Stop On Book Signing Tour For Knit Two Author Kate Jacobs









Please pour yourself a cup of your favorite beverage, which for me this time of year is Starbucks Christmas blend and a biscotti, and settle in for a story.....

It all started February 2007 when living in Idaho we got orders to move to California's Mojave Desert.
A week after arriving at our new base I found out there was going to be a book signing for Author Kate Jacobs book The Friday Night Knitting Club.
The book signing was going to be in Studio City,California.
I had never driven in California and the state I had lived in for 29 years had one four lane freeway going through the entire state.
My hubby was understandably concerned but when I read Kate's book I felt deeply connected I could relate to the women in the story I to have formed friendships because of a shared love of the craft and feel the warmth and love that goes into every stitch.
I felt that Kate understands the true heart of a knitter and even though I have social anxiety and can get lost in a paper bag I made the decision to make the drive to meet the writer that so moved me.

This would be my first adventure in California and my very first book signing, so I printed off directions from map quest and went for it.
I found myself in rush hour traffic, pretty scary the first time you see it.
I made it to the yarn shop La Knitterie Parisienne.(The first picture in this post is of that first book signing)

to my surprise I found out that there would be a sequel: Knit Two came out November 25 2008 so I checked Kate's tour schedule and her first stop on the tour would be Encino, California at The Barnes & Noble.

I called and reserved my copies one for each of my bff's and one for myself.
This time I was prepared my hubby bought Magellan so he programmed the destination and she directed me to the book signing for Knit Two:)

I also bought Kate's book Comfort Food.Kate's books are a wonderful read from beginning to end.
You feel as though you are there experiencing everything with her characters, you can connect with and relate to their struggles and triumphs!
Kate is warm and personable I was so comfortable talking with her it was an enjoyable evening.
I ate at a lovely little restaurant by the book store called Rosti they serve delicious Tuscan home cooking totally worth the trip to Encino,California.















I have been sent advanced copies of her newest book Knit The Season
The third book in The Friday Night Knitting Club series.
One for my enjoyment and review which I plan to read on my trip to New York this month then do the review when I get back and one copy for a giveaway I will be putting up on my blog in the next couple of days.
