I really like how loud the videos are. Some people talk so quite that I strugle to hear any instruction.

Very nice video! Well done, shows good use of how easy it is to manipulate the stitches so they are accessable (? spelling) on the cable needle! I linked to you as well! lol, i am one of the few folks not playing on you tube so...maybe i will go venture there! Looks so much nicer than the cable needle i am fighting with right now!!

When I first say the necklaces on your blog I thought they were pretty and after seeing the video on how easy they are to use, they officially moved up to "must have" lust level.

BTW, I forgot to mention that I posted a link back to this entry on my blog.

Your cable needles are beautiful!

My one comment on the video is that at the beginning when you're slipping the stitches onto the cable needle what you're doing seems to leave the viewing field of the camera. I couldn't really see that part.

I watched the videos (Both of them) rated them, they were great and added a link to your contest on my blog.

I may have to consider getting one of these to use as a prize on one of my contests, they are just wonderful.

Good videos. Very clear, nice and slow, easy to see and hear. My family of fiber folks has long been a fan of Leslie's work and I was a little unclear about how these cable needles worked, since both ends aren't open, but now I get it!

I enjoyed the videos, but I am puzzled. As I looked at the cat and the sheep cable needles, I can't see hanging loops. Perhaps they are on the back of the decoration?

I know the videos are, of necessity, brief. Could you add a picture of you wearing a cable needle to your sidebar?

I like that you go slow and I can follow the video without having to watch it over and over.
I am posting this to my blog.

Good video! I posted a comment on You Tube as well (globalite76). Makes me want to try cables for the first time. I hope I win! :)

Hi Darcy,

I think the video is really good. Since first seeing the cable necklace on your blog, I've been trying to figure out how it would work - now I know! Clear and helpful.

I actually don't understand the second type of entry - are we supposed to make a you-tube video, or is there a way to comment on the video itself?

I will post an entry on my blog soon and let you know when it is done.

Dear Anonymous I see what you mean if you Double Click directly on the video it will enlarge the screen and then you can see the whole image.Hugs Darcy

I appreciate the clear sound on the video, but I wanted to move the camera to the right to capture the knitting in the center of the screen instead of partly off it.

II would have liked one shot with the needle at rest to see how long the cord has to be for easy use.

Abigail said...

Now that is a cool knitting tool.

I love it.

Thought the videos were very good and an effective marketing tool!

amy said...

that is the coolest thing ever. i can see how need brought about a great invention - i actually hold my cable needle in my teeth while it's not in use! YUCK!

Darcys Knotty Knitter said...

merna's question: but I wanted to move the camera to the right to capture the knitting in the center of the screen instead of partly off it.
Answer: did you Double Click on the center of the video that enlarges it to the full image.
Merna's question: I would have liked one shot with the needle at rest to see how long the cord has to be for easy use.
answer:Next week I will be putting a picture of myself wearing the necklace in my side bar and the cord is adjustable so you can adjust it to a comfortable length for easy use:)Hugs Darcy

The video looks great, but I think it would help if you talked about the difference between the two techniques, or just explained them in the labels.

I linked to it as well.

Your cable necklace designs are gorgeous (but I especially love the cat). I found the videos to be very clear to understand. The only thing (and it has more to do with your site than the video content) is that in firefox the videos are not entirely contained by the sidebar and are overlapping into your main content area.

Unknown said...

The videos are very good - they make this seem like a very cleaver, attractive, and useful thing to own.

Sara said...

The video of the tool in action is great. My only problem is that I'd want one for every WIP bag ;)

I can't get the double-click-to-embiggen feature to work - maybe it's because I am using Firefox rather than IE?

Darcys Knotty Knitter said...

Sara's Question:I can't get the double-click-to-embiggen feature to work - maybe it's because I am using Firefox rather than IE?
Answer:I dont know anything about Firfox have you tried going to youtube and typing in cable needle necklace video and viewing it that way? Hope this helps.Hugs Darcy

Unknown said...

I'm so glad that asked about using Firefox and not being able to enlarge the video by double clicking since I had the same experience. My guess is that is indeed the problem.

But even watching the small size, the video is clear, the speech is clear, and I found it very helpful to imagine how I would use one (and makes me want to win or even buy one that much more)

Thanks for doing such a nice job!

Just linked over here from Knit & Tonic. These are beautiful and functional... what more can you ask for??

I think this is really clever. I would like a better lit video. It's showing up a bit too rosey on my screen. Also, the demonstration is good, but I would love if you could go in a bit closer for some portions.

Sally Comes Unraveled question:
The video looks great, but I think it would help if you talked about the difference between the two techniques, or just explained them in the labels.
Answer:This was a great Idea Sally I have just added them to the tags and added the techniques to the video's both on my blog and on youtube:)Hugs Darcy

I really liked the videos (and commented on You Tube as well). I love the cable necklace - it's gorgeous and practical. What a great idea and much nicer than the fight I'm having with a cable needle for my current project.

PS Thanks for reading and linking to my blog!

Your cable needle necklaces are just gorgeous. What a great idea! I have cabled without a cable needle for the longest time, but am tempted by your art to go back to the old fashioned way. :) Beautiful work.

I watched both videos and found them well paced and very good instructionally. The lighting could be better though, or is it my monitor?

Georgi said...

I love your cable necklaces, but I cannot open the videos from where I am now (network problems) but I will open when I get home tonight. I did post about your contest on my blog though

Great necklace! I predict will be one of those things that we'll have as a staple in our knitting tools bag, and wonder what we did without them. Congratulations on a well made video. Instructional videos are harder to make than people think!

Unknown said...

I saw the photo on Twist and had to come get a closer look. Definitely on my must have list. Practical and beautiful, can't beat that.
I liked the video too as I'm new to cables in general and that was useful to see one in process.
Thanks!

This is the coolest. No more flopping cables-in-waiting!

Do you have to have a blog to join in the contest?

Darcys Knotty Knitter said...

Star's Question:
Do I need a blog to enter this drawing.
Answer:
You can leave a comment about the video with your ravelry ID/or email address and you can go to youtube and rate the video and leave a comment so you can get 2 entries into the drawing without having to have a blog.Hugs Darcy

I like the video's. They loaded just fine for me and are very clear. And the cable necklace is a great idea! Go figure, a cable needle that is a necklace and won't fall all over the place... very ingenious! :)

I Love cables!! I couldn't image a necklace that could be a cable needle but you did it! A piece of art to wear, beautiful and useful!
Word needs to get out about your product!!! The vids were great, without them I would never have thought this could be used in knitting. Looking forward to seeing more designs.

I am so sorry I missed this post and the contest! But, I want you to know that I think those cable needles are beautiful and the You Tube videos you have are great. I wrote about your necklaces and the video on my blog today, even if the contest is over. I may just get a necklace to simply wear!
