What a fun drawing! Thanks for thinking of us :) I guess what keeps me coming back to a blog is a mixture of life and fiber, with regular posts -- I don't know how helpful that is, but I think that's what it boils down to for me :)

Your artistry is so beautiful!

What keeps me coming back to a blog? A mixture of content, the photography, and posts that aren't overly long. I also like to to have knitting or quilting featured regularly.

If the bracelet is a hit, I bet people would also like matching shawl/scarf pins too.

well you made it so easy to play to win! I keep coming back to your blog because there is a kindness about you that I love. I love your fiber posts and these very fun yarn/jewelry posts

What keeps me coming back is the photos particularly of knitting-related things.

What keeps me coming back to a blog is the photos of finished objects, and the personality and sense of humour of the writer.

This is such a gorgeous pin!

Great contest! I've just put a post up on WiKnit about it.

I'd say the things that keep me coming back to a blog are good pictures and a similarity of interests (project type, yarns, etc.). I used to care about regular posting, but now that I used bloglines that matters less to me.

What keeps me coming back to a blog is enjoyable content (informative, humourous, or otherwise interesting) and fairly regular posting (it doesn't have to be often, just regular - I'm happy to check blogs that only post once a week or even once a month, as long as I know to expect that).

Oooooooo the bracelet is FABULOUS!!! I agree, a shawl pin should be next!

I read blogs that make me smile. Doesn't matter if they're long, short, pics, no pics- just make me smile.

Thank you for making me smile!!! :)

Okay, I have a lot of blogs that I subscribe to in my reader and for me it's a mixture of photos, amusing stories and fun projects. I don't mind if they're a mixture of media, or all one kind (I'm a multi crafter myself and my blog has lots of random projects on it, fibre, jewellery, recons, etc). I like to see projects in progress, failures, successes, finished objects and what people have learnt. I like to feel like the blogger is sharing a little of their personality, so I feel like I know them just a little bit and I love it when the blog post makes me laugh out loud! And as the knitting linguist says, I like regular posts :-)

I love the butterfly set, very pretty!
What keeps me coming back to a blog is my interest in what the blogger is writing about, such as knitting projects, family and work anecdotes, and life in general. I like a few pictures, but not so many that it the post is all pictures (unless it is Wordless Wednesday in which case there should be no words). I even like blogs where a person states their opinion about politics or someone’s actions, as long as they post it and then go on (not turn it into a harangue). My favorite blogs have a combination of everything, so that it holds my interest. I also like blogs that are posted every few days (or every day, but life happens) I hate it when I find a blog I like and the blogger only posts once in awhile, it is like torture to find a blog I like and then not have the blogger post regularly.
I love the instructional videos you have posted regarding the cable necklace; I think it was a good idea to post them so people do not hesitate to purchase the necklace because of being unsure how to use the necklace.
I have posted to my blog about this contest and hope it sends someone your way http://toknitandwrite.blogspot.com/

Sorry for the verrry long comment:-)

I love the twisted yarn needles - gorgeous.

I come back to blogs where I find myself "clicking" with the author's mindset. If I can have an email conversation with someone and we are both saying, "great minds think alike", I'll stay.

What pretty goodies...

What keeps me coming back is a personal connection, variety, and regular posts, I think...

LOVE the idea of shawl pins too.

I read blogs that make me smile - or better yet laugh! I love pretty pictures, too. And frequent posting (at least every 2 weeks) so it's worth going back to it.

Thanks for running a contest - your work is stunning and I have my fingers crossed!

I find myself coming back to a blog that has enthusiasm- for anything, whether it's life, family, knitting, etc. And most bloggers have it. I read A LOT of blogs! The ones that stand out, for me, are the honest, day to day conversational ones. It feels the closest to friendship, and usually evolves into that. What fun!

what keeps me coming back to a blog is interesting content, a sense of humor and at least an occasional post.
(I'm afraid I'm totally guilty of infrequent posting)

I'm here because Chan posted about you. I really should stop by more. You live in CA like me.

What a beautiful combination of style, elegance and functionality! Perfect!

There are a few elements that draw me back to ablog time and again, one is good photography, and photos in general - I find it so much more engaging and easy to involve myself if there are accomapnying pictures. Secondly, easy flowing narrative that hooks me in. And lastly, regularity - both with posts and with content, so changing things up wth mutliple FOs or knititng projects, spinning, crafting, knitting, gardening and the like. :)

Wonderful Contest--and how sweet you are to have it!

I think pictureheavy posts are good to me, but instructional ones are also! And "friendly" writings--I can't explain why I used that word--but I think YOU know what I mean.

I keep going back to blogs that are written by artisans, including jewelry and fiber/knitting so I can keep up with new products, the creative process, an artisan's look at life, mentions of artisans I'm not familar with and a daily dose of envy of such talented people.

I come to this blog and Leslie's to ogle the beauty.

I go to blogs where I know there will be new entries at least every otner day. Great pictures help too.

Lovely bracelet and pins! Butterflies are a favorite of mine. Awesome drawing ;)

rita said...

Everything is so beautiful! I'd love to see a shawl pin, not too heavy.

I posted about your contest on my blog and linked to it. I asked anyone who came here to tell you I sent them.

And Georgi sent me!

I keep going back to a blog that has lots of humor in it, along with new knitting content and photos of the knitting, and even links to the patterns if possible. I like honesty, even when it's raw and painful.

Right now, I need sleep.

Pictures are always a plus on a blog. Scintillating topics are also good. What someone is making or planning to release is also a plus. :) Techniques/tips are also good & I tend to send people links to them.

Hi Darcy, I always enjoy your post. Seems you can wip out those FO's like nobody else. I can say for sure that the cable needle necklace works like a charm. Now this set is superb! Keep up the good work. I will do a post again about this wonderful contest. Everyone loves my necklace. Just recently picked up one of Leslie's pins:D

Kristen said...

I've never tried cables before, but I love the butterfly set. I would like to learn on that! :)
I tend to keep reading blogs that are updated frequently, have photos, and are about subjects in which I have a lot of interest- like knitting!

Elaine said...

I just remembered to post a notice about your contest - this has been a tough week! I'm dying to win and hope at least someone will tell you I sent them.

Elaine said...

Oh - and I love the video. I think it really makes the use of the needle very clear.

Unknown said...

Oh sign me up! I come back to a blog because of photos - particularly of knitted pieces.

Elaine sent me over.

Unknown said...

I just listened again to your video - I think it is really clear.

I am blogless, but love reading other knitting blogs, particularly ones with lots of photos of FO or WIP. I can't get it together to blog myself

I found out about the contest from Tom.

Unknown said...

I forgot to mention that I really like the videos - very clear. I'd really love to win one and try it out.

What keeps me coming back is that you live very far away now and I can't see your face anymore. I love how happy you are in your new home though and wish you all the best, ALWAYS!

Like many others, I love knitting blogs with photos. They keep me coming back over and over again.

My friend EJ told me about the contest and I think your video is really good. It makes me yearn for one of the beautiful cable needles. Maybe if I don't win, the holiday fairy will bring me one :-)

purple-power said...

I love the cable needles - the bracelet looks beautiful.

I come back to blogs that have charm. I know that is not a precise things, but aren't all aesthetics personal?

My friend Jersey Jessie told me about the contest and sent me over here.

purple-power said...

And I listened to the videos and think they are nice and clear. Of course if I win, I'll be able to tell for sure!

Taylin said...

Gorgeous photography and humor. I will go through blogs for hours just looking at the pictures of yarn and knitting. Yum!

Daisymum said...

I come back to blogs that have pictures describing what they are talking about. I like humor in blogs as well. If the blog is too long I loose interest.

Anonymous said...

I love knitting blogs that have photos of finished projects, particularly sweaters. As a sweater-knitter, I would love to win a cable needle and the bracelet looks really nice.

I found out about your contest from my colleague at work (who logged in as purple-power). She really is into purple - she's not kidding.

As for the instructional videos, I also think they are very good and important because I wouldn't have a clue how to use one without it.

Jennette said...

I like the angle at which the instructional video I watched is shot. It made it very easy to see both the front and back of the knitting as you used the necklace. Really cool!

Cinders said...

I love you cable necklaces. what a pretty and functional item. I watched your video with interest. its very informative
